The Pixel Corps VFX Bootcamp is designed to provide attendees with an overall understanding and working knowledge of the key aspects of the visual effects pipeline. The idea is not to spend 3 days on a single subject, but instead to cover the entire pipeline. It will be intense. It's not a beginner course, but it's also not an expert course. The design for the course is to allow artists in specific fields to cross-train and producers and directors to have a bird's-eye view of the process.
The course is hands-on with short explanation sessions and real-world examples to work on. The goal is to get attendees over the "hump" of learning many of the applications needed in the day-to-day production environment.
In addition to classes, there will be evening talks about visual effects from prominent VFX artists and supervisors.
Attendees will need to bring a computer/laptop capable of 3D and compositing. Some topics will be covered in OSX-only applications (compositing).
Study aids will be provided 2 weeks prior to the class to prepare students for the course and allow them to begin many of the examples.
SEATING IS LIMITED TO 16.
THE CLASS FEE INCLUDES MORNING SNACKS, LUNCH AND 2 DINNERS.
